Race to the Top Update: Project 1
In December, the New Haven Unified School District was named one of 16 nationwide winners in the U.S. Department of Education’s Race to the Top-District (RTTT-D) competition. The District will receive more than $29 million over the next 4½ years, to personalize student learning, improve student achievement and educator effectiveness, close achievement gaps, and prepare all students to succeed in college and careers.
New Haven RTTT-D Director Lisa Metzinger is updating staff regularly about the seven projects that are part of the grant: 1) Literacy and Common Core State Standards, 2) Community Connections, 3) Teacher/ Principal Evaluation, 4) Technology and Personalization, 5) Grading and Assessment, 6) College and Career, 7) Implementation/Program Evaluation.
