Foundation Awards Nearly $4,000 in Classroom Grants

UNION CITY (Thursday, April 26, 2012) – Fourteen teachers and their students will benefit from nearly $4,000 delivered to New Haven Unified schools this week as the New Haven Schools Foundation awarded its annual “Innovations in Education” classroom grants for special projects that promote learning.

In response to an outpouring of concern about how state budget cuts might affect the District’s music program, Board of Education members Tuesday night urged an audience of more than 100 people to get involved in efforts to pass Measure H on the June 5 ballot.

CCMS Principal Named Principal at Livermore High
Alberto Solorzano, a former New Haven student who went on to teach and coach in the District before becoming principal at Cesar Chavez Middle School, was named Wednesday as principal of Livermore High School.
